The city of Avondale Estates is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Hot Dog Parade on Saturday, April 4, from 10 am to noon.

The event will be held around Lake Avondale and the Avondale Community Club, located at 59 Lakeshore Drive.

The announcement from the city says, “Avondale Estates’ beloved annual Easter Egg Hunt and Dog Parade provides a morning of free holiday fun for children, animal lovers and the whole community!”

The Easter Egg Hunt is open to children age 10 and younger.

At 10:30 am you can “bring your furry canine friend to Lake Avondale for the Dog Parade.”

There will be awards for best costume, best owner-dog duo, most spirited/enthusiastic and best behaved. Registration begins on site at 9:30 am.

“The first 50 registered participants to check in receive a free bag of goodies,” the city says.

There will also be an antique car parade on Sunday, April 5.

“Gear up to watch 40-plus cars from the Antique Automobile Club of America, Model A Restorers Club, Early Ford V-8 Club, Cadillac Club and more on Easter Sunday! Lineup begins 1:30 pm at the Twin Oaks Shopping Plaza, 2853 East College Avenue,” the announcement from the city says. “The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. on South Avondale Road and ends at Willis Park, where the cars stop for a temporary display and refreshments are provided by the Southeastern Antique Automobile Club of America.”
