Decaturish.com is looking for another ad salesperson to join our sales team.

Sales reps play an important role here. In addition to providing revenue needed to produce local coverage about our communities, they also ensure editorial integrity by helping us keep the production of news separate from the generation of revenue. That’s not always easy to do at a small company, but it’s something that is important to Decaturish readers.

Job description: Decaturish covers Decatur, Avondale Estates, Kirkwood and the greater east Atlanta metro area, including communities like Druid Hills and Medlock Park. We receive an average of 50,000 unique views and more than 200,000 page views every month. Our goal is to provide original coverage that’s timely, accurate and fair.

Reps are responsible for helping the ad sales director sell advertising for placement on Decaturish.com and its affiliated products. Reps will be responsible for generating their own leads and setting their own hours. Compensation is commission only to start, but there are opportunities for advancement to a salaried position.

Our preferred candidate is …

– Someone who has sales experience. Media sales is a plus, but is not required.

– Someone who is familiar with the communities we cover and our product. Someone with a rolodex of contacts within the community is a plus.

– Someone who has a competitive, can-do attitude.

– Someone who is computer literate. Familiarity with content management systems is a plus, but not required.
