Organic and natural food grocer Earth Fare is opening in the new Emory Point development on July 8th.

The Grand Opening celebration begins at 7 am with giveaways, product demonstrations, and live music, according to a press release. The store will be located at 1578 Avenue Place, Atlanta.

“We have been anticipating the opening of our location at Emory Point for months now, and are thrilled to finally be bringing our fresh, healthy options to Decatur and the surrounding neighborhoods,” Earth Fare president and CEO Frank Scorpiniti said in the release.

The release also noted that Earth Fare opened its first Atlanta-area location in Peachtree Corners in January. But the 24,000 square-foot Emory Point location, across from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will be the first to have a new urban concept design. The company said it will have a layout that focuses on fresh prepared food items. There will also be a 50-seat indoor/outdoor cafe with free Wi-Fi.

Earth Fare started in Asheville, N.C., and it has 36 stores across the Southeast, mid-Atlanta, and Midwest, according to the press release. Last week, the Emory Point store announced on its Facebook page that it was hiring.

Earth Fare may eventually see some competition in the area when it comes to larger organic foods markets. The Atlanta Business Chronicle mentioned in May that Whole Foods was scouting Decatur for locations. And the developers of the Decatur Crossing project said an unidentified organic grocer would be the anchor tenant of that development set to be built at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and North Decatur Road.
