The Decatur Arts Alliance is looking for young artists in grades K-12 for a one-day young artists and musicians market on Saturday, September 26.

A press release says, “On Saturday, September 26, over 50 artists will have booths on the square in Downtown Decatur to showcase their creative works for sale while over 10 musicians perform on the bandstand. The young artists gain practical experience in event organization, marketing, and sales of their artwork.”

“YEA! has become an important event in Decatur because it focuses on young emerging talents in visual arts and music,” Angie Macon, executive director of the Decatur Arts Alliance, is quoted as saying. “Our goal is for our young emerging artists to have an outstanding experience participating in a community event, interacting on the downtown square with art lovers, family and neighbors.”

The application deadline for the YEA! Artist Market is August 25. The release says, “Artists and musicians may apply as individuals or as groups. Applications for the artist market and the musical stage are available online at decaturartsalliance.org.”

The September 26th festival takes place on the Decatur square from noon until 4 p.m.
