Two area restaurants made Zagat’s “10 Best Burgers in Atlanta” list.

Ann’s Snack Bar in Kirkwood was listed at no. 4.

Zagat said, “The ramshackle structure and tiny seating area of Ann’s Snack Bar only add to the charm of this idiosyncratic Kirkwood icon.” It says the ghetto burger is a must order. That burger was declared best in America by the Wall Street Journal in 2007.

As Decaturish reported earlier this year, the founder of Ann’s Snack Bar — Annie Bell Price, or Ms. Ann — passed away at the age of 72. She opened the restaurant on Memorial Drive in Kirkwood in 1971.

The General Muir at Emory Point in Druid Hills also made the list, coming in at no. 6.

“When you’re a restaurant inspired by Jewish deli traditions and there’s no pork in house, how do you interpret the classic American burger? Simple: on Todd Ginsberg’s dinner menu you’ll find a burger where crispy housemade pastrami subs in for bacon, making for a ‘different, and very delicious, experience,'” Zagat said.

The Zagat said the rankings were a result of votes from the 2015 Burger Survey. Check out the other restaurants on the Zagat best burger list.
