The city of Avondale Estates says a road closure related to scheduled work at 61 Berkeley Road could continue through the weekend.

The city hired a contractor to repair washout damage. The work began Thursday, Nov. 19. Berkeley Road is closed between house numbers 59 and 61 and is not be passable. The city announced on Thursday that the road closure could extend through the weekend.

“Contractors expect the road to continue to be closed throughout the day tomorrow, Friday, November 20, and possibly into the weekend with all repairs being completed by Tuesday, Nov. 24,” an email from the city says. “The city will advise residents when the road will be reopened.”

The city also announced a partial road closure on Center Street.

“On Monday, Nov. 23, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Center Street will be partially closed from North Avondale Road to Potter Avenue to replace the roof shingles on the Tudor Village building,” the email from the city says.
