A Decatur Police official has confirmed to Decaturish that a third suspect was arrested in connection to the murder of a man at Allen Wilson Apartments.

Gerard Foster, 52, was shot on the morning of July 6. He was taking his wife to work when the shooting occurred.

Last week police announced the arrests of Christonya Section and Jacob Marquez Pyne. Both had been identified as suspects in the murder. Deputy Police Chief Keith Lee confirmed that Kimberly Sharice Coley has also been arrested and charged with being an accessory to the crime. Lee said Coley is accused of driving a vehicle used in the commission of the crime. She was arrested on July 11, Lee said.

Police have released few details about the case, including what the motive might have been.

Foster, a church Deacon, left behind a wife and seven children, according to his obituary.

Murder is a relatively rare occurrence in Decatur. The last homicide victim in Decatur was Karen Pearce, who was murdered in 2014 by a serial killer who pleaded guilty to the crime last month.
