Found Co. Decatur, a home and body store, has officially opened in Decatur  at 335 West Ponce de Leon Avenue.

In a press release, the company said, “Owners Jason Shadix and Alan McArthur envisioned Found Co. over twenty-five years ago, when they were roommates in Athens, GA. They imagined that someday they would open a shop that would reflect their unique design aesthetics and sense of beauty and offer shoppers an inspired experience. Now, twenty-five years later, Decatur residents and visitors can enjoy the realization of this vision. At Found Co. Decatur, customers can browse handcrafted, artful, new, and found objects and bath and body products in a creative space representing the owners’ organic artistic sensibilities.”

Shadix has a background in landscape architecture and special event design. McArthur has experience in the spa industry and is the former owner of Urban Sanctuary in Athens.

“Found Co. Decatur is designed to stimulate the imagination. As its name implies, it specializes in found objects, some of which are selected for their unusual beauty and others that are new, selected for their fusion of natural elements and modern usefulness,” the press release says. “The shop offers tabletop, hostess, garden, textiles, and decorative arts in natural materials like wood, glass, metal, reflecting the owners’ interest in ecological balance. Bath and body products consist of organic and natural soaps, bath salts, and candles.  Soon, they will add terraria and a flower of the week to their selection.”

Found Co. is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
