Decatur High Band places second in competition

The Decatur High School Marching Band placed 2nd overall in the Heart of Georgia Marching Band Competition held in Warner Robins, Ga. over the weekend.

According to an email from a band supporter, “The band received all top scores (all 1’s) across all categories.”

The band also received:

– Best in Class for AAA for Color Guard, Drumline, and Best in Class for (entire) Band.

– 3rd Best in AAA Class Drum Major.

– Best in Class for ALL classes: 2nd Place Drumline and Colorguard.

– 1st Runner Up (2nd Place Overall)

“The band leadership, dressed in Halloween costumes, received multiple trophies on behalf of the band,” the email says.
