Get read for DeKalb County’s free, biannual household hazardous waste event.

On Saturday, Mar. 25, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the county’s Sanitation Division will help county residents “properly dispose of dangerous household chemicals that are no longer in use.”

A recent press release from the DeKalb County Sanitation Division says:

– Hazardous materials such as aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, lawn care products, fluorescent light bulbs, photo chemicals, artist supplies, paint and paint-related products will be accepted.

– Items such as agricultural waste, ammunition, pharmaceuticals, radioactive materials, biohazardous and biomedical waste will not be accepted.

– Participants will be limited to 10 gallons of paint per vehicle.

The hazardous waste drop is located at the Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30032.
