Man dies after bike accident in Avondale Estates

A man died after his bike collided with another bike in Avondale Estates, according to a police report.

Tim Solomon passed away on April 22, days after the April 15 incident.

According to a police report, Solomon was riding his bike downhill on Lakeshore Drive when he collided with a juvenile riding another bicycle. A physician attending a birthday party nearby went to the scene to provide CPR. Investigators determined Solomon also struck a BMW parked on the street. Police also surmised that the sun may have been shining in Solomon’s face at the time of the incident.

According to his obituary, Solomon was an avid cyclist and he traveled all over the South and Midwest, as well as in Europe, on his bicycle. He was a principal at CF Real Estate services in Atlanta. He was also a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and sang in the choir atĀ Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was also involved in raising funds for the Woodruff Arts Center. His memorial service was April 26.
