Decatur High girls and boys soccer teams seasons end after elite eight appearance

A championship run for both the girls and boys soccer teams at Decatur High ended over the weekend.

Both teams advanced to the elite eight of the state soccer tournament, winning games at home.

But according to an announcement from the team, on May 5 the varsity girls lost to Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, Ga, 5-1. Sarah Grace Tatum scored the only goal for Decatur, according to the email.

The boys played on May 6 against county rival Clarkston High. The defending state champions lost to Clarkston, 2-0.
