A woman was found shot on Alston Drive near Delano Drive on Monday, Aug. 28.

The victim, Marquita Franklin, died on her way to the hospital. Police responded to the call around 12:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Franklin, 36, on her back. She’d been shot in the chest. She was breathing, but unconscious. She died on the way to the hospital, police said. Police officers canvassed the local gas stations to see if she had been to either on the day of the shooting.
