Decatur’s Community Transportation Plan closing presentation will be held on May 10

On Thursday, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., the closing presentation for Decatur’s Community Transportation Plan will be presented at the Decatur Recreation Center.

All are welcome to attend this event, which is “capping a seven month effort to chart the city’s mobility course through the coming decade.”

According to a recent press release, attendees should expect final draft recommendations regarding:

– Priorities for the city’s corridors and intersections

– Approaches for meeting the community’s multimodal ambitions, balancing the needs of motor vehicles, bicyclists, pedestrians, and others

– Designs for specific street types

– Anticipated changes in priorities and behaviors in the years ahead, including solutions emerging from the tech sector

Following this meeting, input received from attendees in concluding breakout sessions will be taken into consideration as the city begins the process of formally adopting the plan.
