The Decatur Police Department was celebrated at a luncheon this week for winning first place in the City Challenge, a competition between local cities to see who could complete the most steps, according to a city press release.
Hosted by Corporate Health Partners, the four-week challenge involved eight cities: Acworth, Alpharetta, Americus, Decatur, Kennesaw, Johns Creek, Smyrna and Suwanee.
There were 242 participants between all eight cities, and Decatur came out on top with 438 points. Combined, challengers stepped 24,082 miles, the release said.
