Decatur High Graduation rate is 95.4 percent, but has dropped every year since 2015

Decatur High continues to have a graduation rate far above its peers.

The 2018 rate was 95.4 percent, according to the Georgia Department of Education, compared to the statewide rate of 81.6 percent.

Data released by GDOE show that the graduation rate for Decatur High has been declining since 2015 as the graduating class sizes have increased.

City Schools of Decatur is on fall break this week. Other school systems celebrated increases in their graduation rate. DeKalb County Schools said its overall graduation rate improved to 75 percent, up from 74 percent. Atlanta Public Schools recorded a graduation rate of 79.9 percent, up 2.9 percentage points over 2017.

“Since 2014, the District’s rate has increased by 20.8 percentage points from 59.1 percent in 2014 to 79.9 percent in 2018,” APS said in a press release.
