Traffic in Avondale Estates will be a little snarled today, Sept. 17.

A downed tree is to blame, the city says.

“A large tree has fallen across Clarendon Avenue near Charlbury Place,” the city says. “This has traffic blocked both directions. Crews are being dispatched to remove the tree and open Clarendon Avenue back up to vehicular traffic. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

In a subsequent update, the city said the roadway is now clear, but that there will be intermittent lane closures while crews clear the debris.
