“Special Urban Forests in Metro-Atlanta” Naturalist Walk

June 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$15

Urban and suburban areas are important for retaining the bio-diversity of the Southeast, North America’s richest eco-region. Learn how you can help nurture and protect these these special landscapes. EcoAddendum Executive Director, Kathryn Kolb, shows how remnants of old-growth and original forests of our region can still be found in the greater-metro area of Atlanta. The settlement and development history of our region, unlike other major cities, left pockets of high value forest in urban places. Learn how to “read” the landscape for clues on how to identify these older forest remnants — which might be found in your backyard! $15 Limited to 15 participants. Part of “BEE AT HOME IN DECATUR” – Beecatur’s celebration of National Pollinator Week 2018!
