Jason Carter considering run for governor
Jason Carter, the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter, is considering a run in 2014 on the Democratic ticket and has commissioned a poll to test the waters, according to the Political Insider blog of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
It’s assumed that incumbent Gov. Nathan Deal will seek re-election.
The blog said Deal has come under fire recently for “allegations that Deal’s office played a heavy-handed role in picking the ethics chief who helped weigh complaints against him, and some pushback on Republican efforts to obstruct the Affordable Care Act in Georgia.”
Carter, a lawyer, was elected state senator for District 42 in a May 2010 special election.
Do you think he could win?
