Vigil planned for murdered grandmother

Residents in Decatur’s Oakhurst neighborhood are organizing a candlelight vigil for Shirley Kendrick, who was murdered late Tuesday evening.

The vigil will be Nov. 1 at 6:15 p.m. outside her home at  272 Cambridge Ave, Decatur, GA.

“Church community members, neighbors, family and friends will be gathering,” an email from the neighborhood association says. “Please feel free to stop by and light a candle in her memory.”
