The District 42 state senator is considering a run for governor.

11 Alive in Atlanta is reporting that State Senator Jason Carter, D-Decatur, is expected to announce a run for governor tomorrow.

Jason Carter is the grandson of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

Carter’s likely opponent would be current Republican Gov. Nathan Deal.
