Win an all-expenses paid trip to … Atlanta?

A San Francisco company is holding a contest with a pretty interesting prize.

If you win, you get an all-expenses paid trip to your own backyard.

The contest announcement from Mosey arrived in my email inbox the other day.

Mosey.com is a service that allows users to create their own personal travel guide for their neighborhood. You pick all of your favorite places, where you eat, where you shop, where you go to have fun and you share your list of haunts with other users.

Mosey is kind of like Spotify, but with shared travel lists instead of play lists. Here’s an example of a Mosey profile created by an Atlanta resident.

The Mosey folks are climbing into a VW Bus on Dec. 1 and going on a marketing tour through the South. They will make a stop in Atlanta on Dec. 7. The company says its looking for “America’s Best Four Hours.” (I assume they aren’t counting traffic as part of that four hours.)

Your local to-do list doesn’t have to cover the entire metro area. You could limit your Mosey to just one part of Atlanta, like Decatur or Kirkwood.

If they pick you, the company CEO will pick you up in the bus and Mosey with you around town. I am told the company will be paying for everything listed on your Mosey, so I’d make sure your activity list includes lunch at Ruth’s Chris and a swim with the beluga whales at the aquarium.

You can enter the contest by creating an account (you have to create your Mosey at least two days before the company’s reps arrive here) and tweeting the link to your Mosey to @wemosey with the hashtag #GreatMosey. Or, for those of you who don’t use Twitter, you can email the link to Talia Pines, Mosey’s head of partnership development, at [email protected]
