Decatur Holiday Marketplace returns this weekend

The 22nd Annual Decatur Holiday Marketplace returns this Friday.

The event is the the major fundraiser for Clairemont Elementary, according to publicity chairwoman Kerry Ludlam. The Holiday Marketplace will be open on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Clairemont Elementary School. The school is located at located at 155 Erie Avenue.

A press release for the event says, “the Decatur Holiday Marketplace + Cafe offers a local alternative to crowded shopping malls and big box stores as Clairemont Elementary School transforms into a festive market, boasting nearly 100 local and national artisans. Featuring handmade jewelry, paintings, photography, pottery and more, this holiday market offers unique gifts for everyone on your list.”

There will be a “well-stocked cafe” featuring local fare from Decatur eateries. There’ll also be local carolers and musicians.

“If you’re shopping with children in tow, kindergartners and older can join in the fun on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with art activities provided by Color Wheel Studios,” the press release says.
