So this is a little different.

The Atlanta Regional Commission, a planning agency for the metro area, is hosting an open house in Decatur this Saturday, January 11.

It begins at 3 p.m. and will be held at
515 North McDonough Street suite A in downtown Decatur.

The meeting will be to discuss updates to ARC’s regional transportation plan.

ARC says it will be a casual atmosphere and encourages attendees to come and go as they please.

”It’s the first test-run of an idea we got from YOU and the overwhelming response to the community engagement survey this summer,” The ARC said in its meeting announcement. “In that survey, more than 2,000 of you said you wanted more local choices, different ways to engage and online options. You said you wanted informal connections, innovation and, dare we say it, fun.”

The ARC adds it’s an idea that it’s considering using throughout the metro area. So Decatur’s meeting will be a bit of an experiment. Sounds neat and worth checking out.
