Avondale Estates Police say there were two reported break-ins of cars on Covington Road and Covington Highway.

In the first incident, someone entered a car on the 50 block of Covington Road over the weekend and damaged the vehicle’s ignition. There were no items reported stolen or signs of forced entry.

The second incident happened between 7 am and 7:10 am Monday morning, Feb. 24. Someone broke the vehicle’s window and stole electronics and personal items.

“The victim’s vehicle was in a rear parking lot and left unattended only a short time period,” Avondale Estates police said. “Investigation continues by AEPD investigations. Anyone having information that may be of assistance in either incident is asked to contact Inv. Tom Gillis at (404) 391-4526.”

The alert from police also says that you should lock your vehicle at all times and remove any valuable items that may be visible.
