Storm night – let’s do this

WinterStormPicI’m ready.

Earlier today I did a little panic consumption. I went to the CVS and bought the basics: extra batteries, some chips, a Toblerone, etc. Before the storm got rolling, my wife and I walked down the street and bought some panic Chipotle.

We didn’t know when we’d get the chance again, with the impending apocalypse and whatnot.

Information is critical in times like these, and if there are massive power outages, getting that info could prove dicey. Your best bet is a battery powered radio, if you’ve got one. I know I don’t. But if I did, I’d be totally set.

Your second best bet, provided cell service is working, is your phone. I’ve got mine and I’ll also be able to use it to update Decaturish as needed.  Also, you can sign up for CodeRED. At first I thought this was a Mountain Dew promotion, but it’s actually an alert service that will give you timely information and weather alerts. The city of Decatur is using it to get the word out in case there’s a loss of power.

If you have important storm related information you need to report, you can call me at 404-542-2562 or email me at [email protected]. I’ll help relay information to the best of my ability, provided my service provider can hang in there and not get stingy with my bandwidth.

The thing I’m trying to say here is pay attention to what’s going on during this storm. If we’re lucky, it’ll be a bunch of hype and we’ll be eating burrito bowls at Chipotle again before we know it.
