Somebody call the governor.

The weather prognosticators are predicting that winter is coming back to darken and then subsequently freeze Atlanta’s door.

The Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from 7 pm tomorrow, Feb. 10, to 7 am Wednesday, Feb. 12.

There will be a mix of rain, sleet and snow on Monday night, and then some cold rain on Tuesday, followed by some freezing rain and sleet on Tuesday night.

There’s potential for 1 to 3 inches of snow across the northern Atlanta suburbs, the National Weather Service says. Driving?  Not a good idea, according to NWS.

“Snow will accumulate on roads, making for hazardous driving conditions Monday night and early Tuesday,” the NWS says. “Ice will begin to accumulate on roads Tuesday night, making for hazardous or impossible driving conditions.”

The bulletin concludes with this comforting sentiment.

“Uncertainty…,” the bulletin says, as if it was written by an oracle examining the patterns in chicken entrails. “There is still considerable uncertainty in this forecast and wintry precipitation amounts are expected to change leading up to the event. Folks across North Georgia should monitor this situation closely in the event that this watch is upgraded to an advisory or warning.”

Seriously, cut the bull NWS. Is this a good time to buy gold or not?

Kidding aside, please don’t take any chances with this stuff. Check the news, make sure you’ve got everything you need and stay off the roads.

And call the governor. I feel like someone should be keeping him in the loop about this.
