Decatur Police say a woman was robbed on Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Sycamore Place.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross said on March 30, at approximately 3:46 pm, police responded to a call about an armed robbery. The victim told police that she was in a parking lot organizing things in her vehicle when a man approached her and demanded money. The victim gave her all the money she had. The man reached into her vehicle and began going through items. He took a bag that contained a small amount of money, Ross said. The victim said the suspect held a small, black-handled kitchen paring knife in his right hand. The suspect ordered the victim to walk away while he was going through the things in her vehicle. The suspect threw the victim’s keys over a fence and ran west on East Howard Avenue. The victim wasn’t injured.

According to Ross,  the suspect was described as a black man with a dark complexion, approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build, wearing dark clothing and a gray knit cap.
