This Saturday Evan Kupersmith will shave his head to show solidarity with cancer patients.

Kupersmith and other students at the 4/5 Academy In Decatur will be participating in a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization that funds childhood cancer research.

Evan’s dad, Kupe Kupersmith, said he’ll be hosting the St. Baldrick’s event this Saturday, March 15, at the Harbour House Pub in Decatur, Ga. from 3 pm to 7 pm. He’s been involved with the St. Baldrick’s group since 2002, and it’s his second year hosting the fundraiser at the restaurant.

Last year, Kupersmith helped raise nearly $23,000 for St. Baldrick’s. The nonprofit gives that money over to organizations like St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“The reason why I like St. Baldrick’s is the high amount of funds that actually go to charity,” he said. “It’s a pretty low administrative cost.”

Kupersmith said the other 4/5 students participating this year are:

Teddy Brock

Rafi Davinsky

Connor Ramming

Charlie Morris

Alex Thompson
