The Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization is gearing up for its annual Spring Fling and Tour of Homes on May 17 and they need volunteers.

It’s a free event held at Bessie Branham Park. The event will last from 10 am to 11 pm. At 8 pm, the Spring Fling will move over to Kirkwood’s business district on Hosea L. Williams Drive, between Kirkwood Road and Howard Avenue North East. Spring Fling draws thousands of people and focuses on local artists and musicians. There will also be plenty of activity for kids during the day.

The tour of homes will focus on the community’s diverse architecture, “from classic Victorian cottages to craftsman bungalows to modern lofts and everything in between,” according to the Spring Fling website.

The event is an annual fundraiser for KNO. The organizers make money from the alcohol sales, and one of the biggest money makers is the famous Kirkwood sangria.

KNO President Jeffery Childers sent an email to Kirkwood community members asking for their help with the event.

“Spring Fling still needs volunteers and a few more houses on the Tour of Homes,” he said. “Please visit www.kirkwoodfling.com to sign-up as a volunteer. To have your home on the Tour please contact Jackie Mueller at [email protected].”
