Poll – Sen. Carter leads Gov. Deal

The Augusta Chronicle reports that a new poll shows state Sen. Jason Carter, D-Decatur, ahead of incumbent Republican Gov. Nathan Deal.
The poll found that 41 percent of respondents supported Carter, and 38 percent supported Deal. The story notes, however, that the margin of error is 4 percent, meaning the 2014 governor’s race is basically a tie.
Morris News and WAGA-TV in Atlanta commissioned the poll. To read the full story and get the reactions of both campaigns to the new numbers, click here.
