If you’re planning on using the downtown connector northbound on Saturday, don’t.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will shut down four left lanes on I-75/I-85 northbound through the city from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. The lanes will be closed from Lankford Parkway to Central Avenue for pavement work, GDOT says.

“If you can avoid using the northbound (downtown) connector during the day on Saturday, do it,” District Construction Engineer Shun Pringle said in a press release. “We believe traffic will be very heavy all day.”

In addition to closing lanes on the downtown connector, on Saturday GDOT will also close two right-hand lanes on Georgia 400 northbound from I-85 to Sidney Marcus Boulevard from 6 am to 6 pm. GDOT will be doing some “concrete work” according to the announcement.
