The annual Tour deCatur 5K hits the road again this Saturday, March 15.

It’s a huge fundraising event for the Decatur Education Foundation, a nonprofit that provides support to City Schools of Decatur, Ga.

The road race is in its 12th year, and begins at 8:45 am and ends at 11 am. The staging area for the race will be at Decatur High School and the route will involve several local streets, starting on Commerce Drive near West Trinity and finishing on the football field. “This event started as a grassroots fundraiser for the Decatur Education Foundation and has grown into a community wide tradition with over 2,500 participants,” the Tour deCatur website says. “One registration fee allows participation in the 5k, 1 mile or Tot Trot. Funds raised by this event support the children and youth of Decatur by providing educational and enrichment opportunities.”
