The power is back on for most of the residents who were affected by a power outage late Sunday evening.

A tree downed a power line, cutting power to an estimated 1,275 residents, Georgia Power reported. As of about 10 pm, there were still 124 without power.

A downed tree in front of Renfroe Middle is the culprit behind the temporary disruption in service.  Resident Tim Russell took this picture:

Severe weather rolled through the area earlier this afternoon, bringing heavy gusts of wind and flashes lighting.
