The Bishop restaurant in Avondale Estates will open May 6 May 13.It will be located at 124 N. Avondale Road, just down the street from Pallookaville.

It was originally supposed to open on May 6, but the date was pushed back due to ongoing construction, according to spokesperson Brooke Lane.

The restaurant will “feature American classics and traditional comfort foods with a twist using all-natural, locally sourced products.”  The menu will also include,  “a generous mix of small plates, salads, sandwiches and entrees, menu highlights include North Carolina clams with Andouille sausage and a SweetWater beer reduction served with griddled bread, the Pine Street BLT with thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and a fried green tomato and a salsa Verde hangar steak with salsa Verde marinade, fennel puree and radish salad.”

Luellen Marshall, owner, is a resident of Avondale Estates. Marshall has more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business and hospitality industry. She’s worked at Village Tavern, TGI Fridays International and Ruth’s Chris.

The restaurant had tentatively planned to open in April and released a list of some of the menu items.

According to the latest announcement, “The Bishop will serve dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 4 to 11 pm and Sunday from 3 to 9 pm.
