Dragon Con has made an update to its guest list for 2014.

Patrick Stewart, an actor famous for playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” TV series, plans to attend this year’s convention.

An social media announcement from Dragon Con says, “We are beyond excited to have the great Captain Jean-Luc Picard!”

Dragon Con is held in downtown Atlanta every Labor Day weekend. This year’s convention is Aug. 29 through Sept. 1. It claims to be the, “Largest, multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music and film in the universe.”

According to the Dragon Con history page, Stewart also attended the convention in 2009. He was on the guest list in 2012, but was unable to attend that year.

Stewart arguably is the most well-known cast member of “Star Trek: TNG.”  Since the series ended, he has starred in numerous other roles, most notably as professor Charles Xavier in the “X-Men” films.
