A citizen’s zoning advisory board will discuss a proposed city of Atlanta ordinance that would increase fees for installing residential sidewalks.

Neighborhood Planning Unit – O meets on Tuesday, May 27, at 2014 at 6:30 pm. The meetings are held at Branham Recreation Center, located at 2051 Delano Drive N.E., Atlanta, GA 30317. NPUs provide recommendations that are considered as part of the city’z zoning and planning process. NPU-O weighs in on matters involving Kirkwood.

Public notice on the city of Atlanta website describes the ordinance as “amending Chapter 138, Article IV, Sections 138-76 and 138-96, and Appendix B, of the City of Atlanta Code of Ordinances to increase residential sidewalk installation fees when the City of Atlanta directly provides the installation services.”

The notice and the NPU meeting agenda do not say how much the proposed fee increase is. The NPU will also discuss proposed ordinances that would establish a permitting system for private solid waste hauling and disposal and an ordinance to create a “pavement degradation recovery fee” that would be charged to builders and utility companies using public rights of way.

The NPU will also consider several zoning applications.
