Atlanta City Councilwoman Natalyn Archibong sends along this announcement about the upcoming Citizen’s Fire Academy.

According to the announcement, the academy will run from July 9 to Aug. 20. It’s a six-week course that meets each Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Atlanta Fire Rescue training facility. The facility address is  407 Ashwood Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30315.

“The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department Citizen’s Fire Academy (CFA) allows participants to experience the modern fire service from a first responder’s perspective,” the announcement says. “Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities ranging from emergency medical services to special rescue operations, which includes spending time at fires stations and responding on emergency calls.”
