The Avondale Estates Police Department is warning residents to secure valuable items after receiving a report of a theft from a vehicle over the weekend.

On June 16, police responded to the call at the 3200 block of Majestic Circle at 6:45 am.

“Upon arrival and initial investigation, it was determined that unknown persons had removed an assortment of tools from a toolbox in a pickup truck parked in the driveway,” the report from the police department says. “Also taken were golf cart batteries from the backyard, just inside the gate.”

Police estimate the theft occurred sometime between June 15 at 8 am and June 16 at 4:45 am.

“Everyone is reminded once again to keep their vehicles and property secured at all times when not in use,” the alert from the police department says.
