Elmyriachi opened its doors on Hosea L. Williams Drive in Kirkwood last month, and has gone over well with critics.

Creative Loafing’s review gave the restaurant high marks, while noting that the service can be inconsistent.

Overall, the restaurant held up well in the CL review.

“Elmyriachi is the rare restaurant that manages to alienate almost no one. The service staff may be green. There may be hiccups at the bar,” reviewer Stephanie Dazey writes. “But with tasty food that feels so developed so soon, and a devoted following right off the bat, Elmyriachi has all the elements of a neighborhood mainstay.”

The reviews on Yelp are consistent with CL’s take as well.

Manager C.J. Moreland said that Kirkwood has embraced the new restaurant, which is a sibling of Elmyr in Little Five Points.

“Right now, we’re getting the tail end of the honeymoon effect,” Moreland said. “The patio is huge. When it comes down to dusk, a lot of people will camp out on the patio. It’s been consistently busy, steady. Things have been good.”

Moreland said that some of the complaints about the spotty service are the result of the restaurant’s growing pains.

“There’s still stuff we’re ironing out as a new business,” he said. “We’re still new, but at the same time we’re still establishing things as far as service, quality and consistency.”
