Housekeeping – A word about our calendar

Our new community calendar
Share

Hello there, readers.

As some of you may have noticed, we have added a calendar to the homepage.

Our new community calendar

Our new community calendar

Doesn’t that look spiffy?

This calendar will serve two functions.

The first function will be to make you aware of free public events, like City Commission meetings. The second, equally important function, will be promoting events created by our advertisers.

Going forward, every Decaturish advertiser will have the ability to upload and (with my prior approval) post events to our calendar. This will include daily deals, specials and unique menu offerings. Our ad rates are quite reasonable – as low as $150 for 30 days.

Additionally, anyone will be able to post a single event on the calendar for $50.

If you’re interested in advertising, I encourage you to take a look at our brand new media kit. To download it, click this link: Decaturish.com Media Kit

We’ve got great rates that can fit a variety of budgets and plenty of available positions. We accept checks and all major credit cards. To buy an ad, please call Advertising Director Jeff Cochran at 404-441-7389 or email him at [email protected].

This website began with donations from our readers. Thanks to the more than $2,000 we received, we were able to pay for our basic expenses and set things in motion.

I’m asking you to continue to support us by supporting our advertisers. Attend their events. Go to their restaurants. Visit their stores. When you do that, be sure to tell them that you’re supporting them because they are helping Decaturish provide the news free of charge to our readers.

As a small business owner myself, I know how hard it is to part with money. Our advertisers need to see that the money they spend will bring customers through their doors. That’s better than any click or impression that we can offer. If you can help us show them a return on their investment, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

– Dan Whisenhunt, Editor and Publisher of Decaturish
