After a July 4 hiatus, the Georgia Department of Transportation has a busy weekend planned.

There will be closures on the top end of I-285 and Georgia 400. GDOT also plans to do some re-striping around the downtown connector.

GDOT advises that, “Wise Metro motorists will remember where they don’t want to be – I-285 on the northwest side and I-20 anywhere.”

On the project list for this weekend:

– There will be a re-striping project on the northbound and southbound downtown connector exit ramps to I-20 eastbound. The work will take place each night starting at 8 pm and ending at 6 am. GDOT plans to keep the ramps open, but says there’s a good chance there will be delays.

– On the top end of I-285, GDOT is closing Interstate North Parkway between New Northside and Northside drives beginning at 1 pm Friday and continuing through 11 am Sunday so a private contractor can stage a crane for building maintenance.

– There will be a right lane closure on Georgia 400 northbound between Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Glenridge Road from 7 am to 7 pm Saturday and Sunday. GDOT says there will be some underground boring and painting activities for the new MARTA pedestrian bridge that will require an overnight northbound lane closure near Lenox Road on Friday.
