The Georgia Department of Transportation has released its road work schedule for the coming weekend.

According to GDOT, work on the top end of I-285 will resume this weekend, starting at 9 pm Friday and ending at 5 am Monday. There will be inside left-lane closures in both the inner and outer loops between Powers Ferry Road and I-75. On I-285 south side, the Hartsfield-Jackson airport workers will perform maintenance on the lights in the 5th runway tunnel. There will be “sporadic multiple lane closures” in both directions all weekend.

Downtown there will be overnight re-striping of westbound I-20 exit ramps. This will occur overnight. The ramps – in order – will be Flat Shoals Road, Glenwood Avenue, Capitol Avenue and Windsor Street. The work will be nightly from 8 pm to 6 am and all the ramps will remain open to traffic, but there will be delays, GDOT says. “Work will be timed so as not to interfere with Atlanta Braves’ game traffic.”

Crews will close one outside right lane on Georgia 400 northbound between 7 am and 7 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

GDOT also says, “Contractors are planning to work all weekend to put the finishing touches on the Georgia Department of Transportation’s resurfacing of Interstate 20 between Douglasville and Villa Rica by Monday, months before November’s scheduled completion date.”
