There will be a new drink-while-you-paint business moving into the city of Decatur.

Decatur ArtHouse has announced it will open its doors on Aug. 13 next to the Corner Pub at East Decatur Station. Customers can bring their own beverages and snacks.

According to the press release, Decatur ArtHouse was founded by Decatur residents Tennielle and Ron Bailey. It is “staffed with local artists who love teaching and want to share their experience and passion for the arts with others in and around their community.”

It’s located at 619 East College Avenue, Suite E. It will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 7 pm to 10 pm. The space will be available on Sundays and Mondays for private parties. The two hour classes are $25, and three hour classes are $35.  Art materials are included in the cost. The website is www.decaturarthouse.com

Classes are for ages 21 and up.

“Bring your friends and have a fun night out, bring a date, or come solo,” the announcement says. “This exciting new locale offers a modern, artistic, friendly, and laid back ambiance and will give you the opportunity to you unleash your creativity and connect with others through art.”
