A Decatur resident will be among the presenters at an upcoming event recognizing the contributions of Georgia Muslims.

Judith Service Montier will be a part of the “100 Influential Georgia Muslims” gala dinner scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Cobb Galleria.

Montier is a marketing and communications professional who has 15 years of experience working with arts, cultural and nonprofit organizations, according to her biography. She’s currently the Vice President of Marketing for The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Inc.

The event is being sponsored by the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta. The organizations executive director is Soumaya Khalifa.

Montier said the invitation from Khalifa came as a surprise and she considers it an honor.

“I am delighted to participate in this wonderful evening and to have a role in acknowledging and highlighting the tremendous contributions of the Muslim community throughout our region,” Montier said.

The host for the event will be former WSB-TV anchor Monica Pearson.
