Juveniles accused of breaking into Renfroe Middle

Decatur Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross said officers responded to a burglar alarm at Renfroe Middle School on Jan. 22.
The alarm went off around 2:04 am.
“While checking the perimeter of the school, an officer observed two males flee from the rear of the property and down Kings Highway,” Ross said. “Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the males.”
Someone with a set of keys arrived and let the officers inside. They didn’t find any other suspects and nothing appeared to be missing. Video surveillance showed three suspects in the school going into the classrooms.
Ross said on Feb. 2 that police have been able to identify two of the three suspects and they are charged with second degree burglary. They are both 15-year-old males from Decatur, she said.
