Decatur Police responded to an accident involving a bicyclist and a car Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue.

Sgt. Jennifer Ross reports, “The cyclist was traveling on the sidewalk and abruptly turned from a driveway into the roadway in front of a vehicle and was struck. The cyclist sustained visible injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The cyclist was issued a citation for failure to yield while entering the roadway.”

No word on the extent of the cyclist’s injuries.
