Got a couch that just won’t fit in the city of Decatur’s Pay-As-You-Throw bags? Mark your calendar.

The city will hold its annual neighborhood cleanup days, starting March 28. The city holds a cleanup day each Saturday to grab items that aren’t easily disposable.

Items the city will pickup include:

– Yard trimmings

– Building materials (that are not from the work of private contractors)

– Tires

– Furniture

– Appliances (not containing Freon)

The city will not collect:

– Liquids

– Dirt

– Bricks

– Blocks

– Stone, rocks, or concrete

– Motor vehicle batteries or parts

To participate, all items will need to be on the curb no later than 7:30 am, the city says. Cleanup ends at 3:30 pm.
