Decatur Commission, School Board call a joint work session for April 27

The city of Decatur has just announced there will be a joint work session between the Decatur City Commission and the city School Board on Monday, April 27 at 6 pm.

City Schools of Decatur’s School Board will also meet at 7:30 pm to vote on selecting a search firm to hire a replacement for outgoing Superintendent Phyllis Edwards.

According to an agenda published by City Schools of Decatur, the two government bodies will discuss a proposed bond referendum to pay for school construction.

The work session will be held at City Hall, located at 509 North McDonough Street. All meetings are open to the public.

“Please note that work sessions are not open for public comment,” City Spokesperson Casie Yoder said.

The School Board’s special called meeting will be held at CSD’s central office, located at 125 Electric Avenue. All School Board meetings are open to the public.
