It’s been a rainy start to the week, and Decatur High School is preparing for more rain during Thursday’s graduation.

Principal Noel Maloof sent out an email detailing the rain plan for Thursday evening. If it rains, the graduation will move from Decatur High’s stadium to the gym.

Maloof said in the email,

“We will hand out 6 tickets per senior for the graduation ceremony at the graduation practice on Thursday morning. These tickets will be used if the ceremony is held inside the gym. All guests must have a ticket in hand to enter the gym. I understand that you may have more guests than the 6 tickets will provide room for. We apologize for this and hope that you will still be able to support our seniors and have a fantastic evening.

The decision to move inside will be made very close to the graduation ceremony and will be sent in an eblast and posted to the web by 5:30pm on Thursday May 28, 2015.”

The principal said of the rain plan, “We hope that the rain will hold off and we can continue with our plans and have a beautiful evening in the stadium.”

Graduation is at 7 p.m. Thursday evening. Maloof said the school anticipates 250 graduates this year.
